摘要: The starch/natural rubber composite was prepared by blending the modified starch by esterification with natural rubber latex. The modified starch particles are homogenously distributed throughout the natural rubber (NR) matrix. The thermal degradation process of the modified starch/NR composite is similar to that of the pure NR, and only involves one degradation step. In comparison to the host NR, the thermal stability of the composite is significantly improved. The initial, peak and final degradation temperatures of the composite increase by 13 degrees C, 4 degrees C and 14 degrees C, respectively, over the pure NR. The apparent activation energy for the composite is 107.7kJ/mol, which is 12.2 kJ/mol higher than that of the pure NR. The hardness, stress at 500%, tensile strength, permanent deformation and tear strength of composite increase linearly with the increment of dosage of modified starch.
