摘要: Encarsia tricolor Forster (Hym., Aphelinidae) is a facultative autoparasitoid that develops also on the important pest Aleyrodes proletella L. (Hom., Aleyrodidae) in cabbage (Brassica oleracea) in the field. The present laboratory research dealt with development, longevity and parasitization of the white fly parasitoid, E. tricolor at different temperatures in order to collect information for using it against A. proletella in biological control programmes. The results showed that mean duration of development from egg to adult of E tricolor was significantly longer at 18 degreesC with an average of 34.0 days than at 26 degreesC with an average of 20.6 days. Similarly, longevity of the female was significantly longer at 18 degreesC with an average value of 24.2 days compared with an average of 22.1 days at 22 degreesC and 21.3 days at 26 degreesC. The number of eggs laid by F. tricolor in white fly nymphs, which were described as parasitization, increased as the temperature was increased, e. g., it averaged to a total of 66.4 at 18 degreesC, 89.1 at 22 degreesC and 95.9 at 26 degreesC. However, when the temperature was increased to 30 degreesC, the number of parasitized nymphs dropped down sharply to only 5.5. In general, parasitization began 1 or 2 days after the parasitoid emergence and lasted for 20 days of the oviposition period. But, the oviposition was reduced to only 7 days at 30 degreesC. The peak number of eggs laid daily by E tricolor were averaged to 5.8 at the I I th day at 18 degreesC, 7.2 at the 7th day at 22 degreesC, 8.5 at the 13th day at 26 degreesC and 1.8 at the 2nd day at 30 degreesC.
