Study on dynamics of sugar content in stalk of sweet sorghum

摘要: The accumulation of sugar in stalk of sweet sorghum begins after vegetative growth stage turning to reproductive growth stage. It shows a same tendency among different varieties, but the accumulating speed varies at different part of the stalk joint.The sugar accumulation in stalk increases with maturity of the plant. The study results showed that the varying process of sugar content in stalk appeared 4-time rises and 2-time drops; the flowering and maturing periods were stages of sharp increase; filling and later maturing period it showed a slow increase, while in the milk ripe stage and post frost, the sugar content decreased.
