摘要： Small-farmer operation, great regional difference and lack of technical and marketing support organization are the basic characteristics of China's agriculture. The characteristics decide that the regional management of local governments plays an important role in the development of China's agriculture and that the regional management is so complex that it will include many functions, which should be carried out by some service organization in other countries. Based on the analysis of current situations of the agricultural management departments in the governments at county level and prefecture level and the analysis on the requirements of the development of regional agriculture, an decision support system for regional agricultural management for the agricultural department at county level and prefecture level was developed. The basic functions of the system includes resource management, technical extension management for each cropping activity and animal breeding activity, cost and income analysis and price analysis, so the system can be used as a platform for regional agricultural management. Technically, the system combines the GIS and relational database and so takes the advantages of both GIS, which is good at graphic presentation of geographic data, and relation database, which is good at the organization and analysis of attribute data. Though the system is still a desktop application, the ways that the system is able to serve network are also discussed.
