摘要: Mercury (Hg) is toxic to animals, particularly in the form of monomethyl Hg(O'Driscoll et al., 2005), however, the toxicity of Hg can be alleviated by selenium(Se) compounds (Chen et al., 2006). Usually, the Se content in food has been constituted to determine the severity of Hg toxicity, consequently, it was always included in the investigation of soil pollution and risk assessment of agricultural environment (Horvat et al. 2003). In this study, the city of Fuyang (one of the largest centers of secondary copper (Cu) smelting) in Zhejiang Province, China, was selected as the study area to investigate Hg and Se distributions and possible interactions in rice (Oryza sativa).
