摘要： A study of beach evolution along the Angletcoast line is necessary to understand the hydrodynamic phenomena responsible for their erosion. This study is based on 21 bathymetric maps, surveyed between 1973 and 1996. Analysis of this data is possible if we wonder several questions about methods of data acquisition in a numerical format, and the data modelling with GIS software (Geographic Information System). This paper presents a review of the different sources of error and tries to quantify them, and evaluate their influence on the volume calculation or the contour mapping. The influence of the choice of the boundary limits are also presented by the analysis of the edge effects.
