摘要: The presence of suspended participate matter (SPM), transported through an estuary by the river flow and rejected in the ocean, is often visualized by the presence of a surface turbid plume. Since these SPM can be associated with nutrients, pollutants, bacteria and other materials, it is of crucial importance to follow their dispersal in order to assess the quality of the regions surrounding river mouths. Remote sensing offers suitable techniques for mapping surface SPM concentrations based on optical properties of coastal waters. This paper presents the application of two techniques, a satellite radiometer (MODIS) and a video imaging system (ARGUS). Data analysis is performed to assess the Adour river plume behavior following a stormwater runoff. The combination of these two technologies allows capturing the surface turbid stormwater runoff plume dynamic at different temporal and spatial scales.
