摘要: The succession of northward expansion of winter wheat production region (WWPR) and reform of farming system in the Yellow River Ningxia Valley (YRNV), a previously spring wheat production area, has promoted the transform to planting from binary structure into tribasic structure. Winter wheat is better adapted to local conditions, and could increase yield 15% to 20% more than spring wheat, which'had good quality. Early whiter wheat cultivars could mature 20 days earlier than spring wheat. After winterwheat harvesting, a lots crops could be multiple planting there, such as rice, corn soybean, vegetables, fodder etc. It seems that Ningxia has realized the system that "double cropping both for refined grain a year" or " multiple cropping a year". Thesenew cropping cycles could increase net income 42% to 80% per unit area compared to the traditional cycle. Planting winter wheat hi the YRNV also could benefit to environment protection.
