Structural regulation of β-ketoenamine covalent organic framework as efficient and environment-friendly nanocarrier for herbicide Dicamba

摘要: In order to reduce the risk of dicamba volatilization and leaching to the environment, (1-ketoenamine covalent organic frameworks (COFs) were developed as nanocarriers through reversible hydrogen bonding between the carboxyl group of dicamba and the (1-keto group of COFs. By tuning the pore size and functional groups, the dicamba loading of TpBD-COF reached 28.5 wt%. The resulting Dicamba@TpBD-COF reduced the volatility of dicamba by 50.62 % and minimized leaching, while maintaining herbicidal efficacy comparable to that of commercial formulations. Both TpBD-COF and Dicamba@TpBD-COF were biosafety for non-targeted wheat seedlings and even slightly promoted growth and photosynthesis. Treated soils showed a more complex community of nitrogen-fixing microorganisms that contributed to plant health. This strategy significantly reduced the environmental impact, maintained weed control, and improved safety for non-targets, highlighting the potential of COF as an eco-friendly pesticide carrier.
