摘要: Lepidopteran fruit borers are important fruit tree pests. The adults are considered to recognise various environmental odorants by olfaction, such as sex pheromones and host volatiles. The olfactory proteins involved in the recognition of sex pheromones and host volatiles in lepidopteran fruit borers have mainly been researched in the codling moth Cydia pomonella (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), the oriental fruit moth Grapholita molesta (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) and the peach fruit moth Carposina sasakii (Lepidoptera: Carposinidae), including their odorant binding proteins (OBPs), chemosensory proteins (CSPs) and odorant receptors (ORs). The OBPs and CSPs bound well with the sex pheromone components and host volatiles, and their ligand-binding sites were partially analysed. The ORs responded to the sex pheromone components and host volatiles in heterologous expression systems. One G. molesta OBP, one C. pomonella OR and two G. molesta ORs were further confirmed to be involved in the odorant recognition by RNA interference. The research progress was summarised here as a reference for further studies. More work is needed to fully understand these olfactory proteins. They may become important molecular targets for the control of these pests.
