摘要: Halophyte-derived biochar was a potentially ideal amendment for acidic soils, attributed to its high base, ash content, and pH levels. The unique chemical compositions of plants from saline-alkali environments, influenced by soil physicochemical properties, led to specific biochar characteristics. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between biochar and soil via plant compositions, using three saline-alkali soils: alkali soil (Soil-A), severe alkalized soil (Soil-S), and moderately alkalized soil (Soil-M). Results showed that reeds growing under high sodium and bicarbonate conditions exhibit enhanced carbon production potential. Soil properties significantly affect plant-derived biochar characteristics. The influence of each physicochemical index varies with the property or properties set of the plant. The biochar characteristics most influenced by soil salinity include the carbon (C) content, fixed C, and mineral elements, which were achieved by the regulation of cellulose, total carbon(TC), and ash content of plants. The C content and fixed C of biochar derived from reeds in Soil-S were the highest, measuring 86.81 % and 69.43 %, respectively. It was worth noting that the C content was not simply determined by the organic matter and TC levels in the soil. Biochar from reed grown in Soil-M with high organic matter had the lowest C content. Ash content in biochar was more influenced by soil fertility indicators like organic carbon, nitrate, and phosphorus, but not by water-soluble salts. This work shed some light on the relative importance of soil properties in the production of plant-derived biochar, aiding in the targeted design and precise application of biochar.
