摘要: Southern corn rust (SCR) severely threatens maize production world-wide. Achieving durable control of SCR requires efficient breeding and deployment of resistant hy-brids. Recently, two research teams (Chen et al. and Deng et al.) cloned two SCR resistance genes (RppC and RppK) and the cognate Avr genes (AvrRppC and AvrRppK), which will accelerate SCR resis-tance breeding.
