摘要: Biochar, which is typically made from biomass via pyrolysis, can be used as a soil amendment that can increase soil fertility, and improve agricultural productivity. Biochar is also under investigation as an approach to carbon sequestration. In this paper, we used mixed biomass consisting of different kinds of plant biomass and pig manure as raw materials and prepared biochar via pyrolysis in a carbonization furnace from these raw materials. We then studied the influences of plant biomass type on the properties of the corresponding biochar. The results are as follows: (1) The addition of plant biomass to pig manure improved the yield, increased the carbon content of the biochar, and decreased the ash content of biochar. (2) The pH of the biochar made from mixed biomass was alkaline, which thus could be used in acidic soils; (3) The plant biomass tended to help increase the specific surface area of biochar, which could improve the corresponding adsorption performance of the biochar.
