A host-guest recognition electrochemical sensor based on MXene/COF heterocomposite bound to β-cyclodextrin for the direct detection of zearalenone in cereals

摘要: In this study, an electrochemical sensor free of biomolecules was constructed based on a structurally stable and high-performing combination of MXene/Triptycene-based phthalocyanine-azacyclophane-1 covalent organic framework (TpPa-1-COF)/Au heterostructure with beta-Cyclodextrin (CD) for the direct detection of zearalenone (ZEN). Since the concentrations of ZEN are frequently quite low in cereals with complex matrix interference, in addition to its low electrochemical signal, the MXene/TpPa-1-COF/Au heterostructure hybrid composite was prepared through an in situ self-assembling method to achieve double amplification of the signal and enhance the stability of the sensor. The sulfhydryl-modified beta-CD was further immobilized onto the sensor via Au-S bonds, producing a novel specific adsorption material for ZEN through subject-guest recognition. Under the optimal conditions, the developed sensor exhibited a favourable linear response (R2 = 0.9963) in the range of 0.04-0.5 mu g/mL, a low detection limit of 0.01 mu g/mL and high recoveries in the range of 96.6 %-108.9 %. The excellent stability, reproducibility and selectivity of the electrochemical sensor provided a facile and efficient modality for monitoring ZEN in cereals.
