A New Fluorimetric Derivatization Reaction to Detect Tetrodotoxin

摘要: Tetrodotoxin(TTX) is one of the most toxic natural neurotoxins existing in several kinds of fishery products which caused TTX-poisoning occasionally. Therefore, highly sensitive methods for TTX detecting should be developed. It was found that TTX could be converted into a derivative with strong fluorescence when reacting with sodium bromate (NaBrO) together with urea. Fluorescence scanning spectrum showed that the fluorescent compound with Maximum excitation wavelength at 233nm and emission wavelength at 370nm, was completely different with the well-known alkaline degraded product-quinazoline, of TTX. The derivatives were separated well on a C-18 column and detected by a high performance liquid chromatograph with fluorescent detector in this study. The detection limit was below 10ppb TTX.
