Contrast experimental study on energy conversion of the point absorber Wave Energy Converter

摘要: The point absorber Wave Energy Converter (WEC) has been researched more actively recently; the energy collecting system of the WEC consists of a single buoy or multiple buoys, and the power take-off system consists of a hydraulic motor system, or linear generator etc. The power take-off system has a great influence on the energy conversion efficiency and the offshore survivability of the WEC. Based on the floating point absorber WEC, for the purpose of studying the energy conversion characteristics of the power take-off system, the linear generator, hydraulic cylinder and the flexible pump of three power take-off systems are considered, and the three point absorber WEC models are designed. Through the contrast test, the damping characteristics and energy conversion characteristics of different WECs are analyzed. The results of the model tests provide the basic experimental data for the design of the point absorber WEC with different kinds of power take-off systems.
