摘要: Industrial bioenergy production is a suitable option in the current situation of energy scarcity and global warming. However, the production of a single bioenergy type represented by bioethanol results in a low energy conversion rate and is not economical, co-production based on the biorefinery concept can maximize economic efficiency. This review summarizes the research progress on second-generation co-production of ethanol with bioenergy and biobased products. The feasibility of the co-production of ethanol with bioenergy such as hydrogen, ethanol with polyols such as xylitol and ethanol with organic acids such as succinic acid is discussed. This review describes the advantages of the co-production of ethanol with high-value-added biobased chemicals and briefly discusses the shortcomings and improvement strategies of co-production technology. The prospects for ethanol co-production with bioenergy and biobased products are also discussed.
