Carbon nanotubes, Conductive Carbon Black and Graphite Powder Based Paste Electrodes

摘要: Carbon nanotubes, conductive carbon black and graphite powder were used to fabricate three kinds of paste electrodes, respectively. The electrochemistry and electroanalytical properties of the electrodes were characterized in parallel by voltammetry, impedance and chronoamperometry. Obviously the surface and bulk structure of the material affect not only the electrode kinetics but also the interactions with analyte in solution. Resulting from the voltammetric response data from a broad species, including ferrocene, potassium ferricyanide, ascorbic acid, dopamine, 2'-deoxyguanosine 5'-triphosphate, malachite green, Cd(2+) and Pb(2+), it highlights that conductive carbon black paste electrode shows the most promising electroanalytical properties in general, owing to the remarkable high signal/noise ratio. Meanwhile, the importance of the components in the paste electrodes also depends on the particular redox system involved.
