摘要： A new series of dwarfing apple rootstocks was selected from open pollinated seedlings of Malus baccata (L.) Borkh., a wild Malus rootstock resource in Northwest-Shanxi province of China. Five hundred seventy-one plants out of 150,000 seedlings were selected, which formed flower buds in the same year they were planted and bloomed the next year. Among these, 325 selections bore fruit in the year of planting and were named the "Y" series of apple rootstocks. Field evaluations on blooming, fruiting, growth, and winter survival of these plants were conducted. Seventy-five clones were selected for further evaluation. Preliminary tests show, the Y series of apple rootstocks have strong disease resistance, an outstanding habit of early-blooming, early-fruiting, and good compatibility with various apple cultivars. Some clones may be dwarfing.
