摘要: Limited information existed about the transformation of sulfur (S) in black soil in northeast China, and its benefit to maize. The objectives of this study were to characterize the S forms in black soil, to correlate the content of various S forms in soil with maize S uptake, and reveal the availability of different S forms to maize based on two pot experiments. One group of soil samples was collected from farmlands in three representative black soil sites: Gongzhuling, Hailun, and Bei'an in northeast China, and another group of soil samples, including no fertilization (CK), manure (M), chemical fertilizers (NPK), chemical fertilizers plus manure (MNPK), was collected from the Black Soil Ecological Experiment Station, Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The results showed that maize S uptake was correlated with the content of water-soluble sulfur (H2O-S), organic S (Org-S), and available S (Avai-S). Maize S uptake gradually decreased during three maize growing periods in all soils when no S fertilizer was applied, and the largest decrease was observed in the third period. Maize S uptake increased under treatments that received S fertilizer and decreased in the order of MNPK > M > NPK > CK. Total soil S content decreased in CK, NPK, and MNPK, and showed no change in M when maize was continuously planted without S fertilizer. However, soil total S content increased in response to S fertilizer, and the most when manure was applied
