摘要: DNA sequencing technology is undergoing a revolution and the same time fuelling a revolution in genetics and genomics. To understand a plant's heritable traits, it is important to understand its genome. If a plant has a very complex genome it may be a challenge to correlate genome variation with important agronomic traits. The genomics extended by high-throughput sequencing now impacts the disciplines of agronomy, biochemistry, physiology and microbiology. This review summarizes advances of next generation technologies and introduces the development of next generation sequence (NGS) for perennial grass as well as perspectives the important role of NGS in research of genomics for perennial grass in the future.
