摘要: The toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) recognizes double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), the intermediate product of most virus during multiplication, and acts as a candidate gene for resistance to a large number of viral diseases. Variation in TLR3 may alter host immune response to dsRNA, as suggested by studies on other TLRs in humans and livestock. Here, the genetic variation in the coding sequence of porcine TLR3 gene was explored in animals belonging to western commercial and Chinese indigenous pig populations. Eight single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), including four non-synonymous, were identified. Two non-synonymous fell in ligand binding region and potentially alter specificity of pathogen recognition. The 8 SNPs were found in 15 haplotypes, one of which segregated at high frequency in the whole sample. Departure from neutrality analysis highlighted the fact that demographic factors strongly influence the test. These data provide novel, informative genetic markers for future disease association studies.
